Christine Murer-Cardoso, Director

Christine began gymnastics at the age of seven and instantly fell in love with the sport.  After many years of training and competing, she qualified as a member of the Provincial team in 1998. They came first in the Ontario Provincial Championships and Christine placed fourth in the all round competition. Her career in competitive gymnastics involved numerous competitions, at both the provincial and international levels, over a period of ten years.  She also competed for Unionville High School where she achieved the status of Level 5 all around champion in her region. This allowed her to qualify for the Ontario Federation of School of Athletic Associations (O. F. S. A. A.) where she placed silver on the bars.

In addition Christine received her Level 2 certification under the National Certification Program (NCCP) with the Ontario Gymnastics Federation which allowed her to teach gymnastics both competitively and recreationally for over 6 years.  In 2004, following her retirement from competitive gymnastics, she worked in Bermuda as a choreographer with National Level athletes for the Bermuda Gymnastics Association.

Christine also trained and competed for 6 years in many disciplines of dance including ballet, jazz and acro. Her experience with dance than lead her to teach a variety of styles and specializing in Acro. She has taught both competitive and recreational students for over 12 years.

Due to her extensive training in dance and gymnastics, Christine has performed on a number of television series as a stunt double and dancer. 

Christine is a certified Personal Trainer through Can-Fit-Pro with four years of experience in the industry.  She specializes in stretch and strength and has worked with elite athletes as well as sporting teams to help improve their flexibility, coordination and strength.

 

Erin Aves , Director

Erin Aves began dancing at the age of four, studying many disciplines with a main focus on ballet. She graduated from the Performance Dance Program at George Brown College in 2002 and spent the following summer in New York dancing with the Ajkun Ballet Theatre. From 2003-2005 Erin danced a principal dancer of the Ballet Espressivo. Erin Taught dance for twelve years and has since moved to the fitness industry.

In 2004 Erin became certified as a Pilates instructor with Stott Pilates and is now a member of the PAC (Pilates Association of Canada). She now teaches private, semi-private and group Pilates classes with and without small props and pilates equipment.

Erin has also worked at a downtown Physiotherapy and Chiropractic clinic for over three years. At this clinic she has gained substantial experience with sports injuries, occupational injuries, and post-surgery rehabilitation. She teaches rehab exercises and core strength as part of post injury therapy as well as injury prevention.

In her group classes, Erin focuses on using as many muscles as possible to get the most out of every exercise. She uses small props and stability balls to enhance the workout. She combines slow and fluid movements with quick and strong movements to keep the mind and the body active.

Private sessions with Erin are designed specifically for the individual.  Personal goals and issues are addressed to ensure results. Each Pilates session can include the use of a Reformer, Cadillac, Stability ball and a variety of small props. Personal training sessions are organized in the same fashion to meet the individual's needs. The sessions will focus on core stability and alignment through exercises using weights, balls, BOSU and pulleys.

Gary Yuan , Personal Trainer

Gary started playing sports at a very young age.  Although he played a variety of sports, Gary excelled in Football and was able to share his talent with the Markham Raiders, where he played competitive football for four years. His passion for sports and health led him to focus his studies on Physiology and Nutrition, at the University of Toronto, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (Biology Specialist).

Gary continues to educate himself through enrollments in various workshops and courses and recently obtained his Personal Trainer certification through Can-Fit-Pro. 

For the past three years he has trained a variety of clients, both men and women, through tailored programs for increasing muscle mass, flexibility and co-ordination. His broad experience also extends to competitive and recreational sports teams, such as the Toronto Hustlin' Owls football team, where he employs the use of plyometrics and other agility focused techniques throughout his training sessions.

Robynn Nierop, Holistic Nutritionist/Instructor

Robynn is a graduate from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) where she gained her designation as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN). She currently practices at Body Lines Dance and Fitness where she promotes optimal healthy lifestyles through individualized nutritional consulting for both adults and children. She specializes in the use of diet and natural nutrition as necessary aspects to achieving the best possible levels of health and wellness for her clients.

Robynn has completed the Body Harmonics Training program for Pilates three years ago and has been practicing Hatha Yoga for over four years. She has an intense passion for both Pilates and Yoga, using the combination of these practices to teach her clients how to create strength, balance, flexibility and how to relieve stress through the use of breath.

Robynn is also a certified Life Skills Coach, graduating from George Brown College in 2009. Living life with in balance, moderation and contentment are some of her most valued everyday goals.
